American Currency Redesign

I was tasked by my professors in my junior year to redesign the American currency. Inspired by the dedication and sacrifices of our military personnel, I decided to create a concept that honored the different branches of the military.

In addition to honoring the military, my redesign of the American currency also sought to address the outdated and vulnerable nature of the current system. With advances in technology, it has become increasingly important to update our currency to ensure its security and protect against counterfeiting. To achieve this, I incorporated new levels of security into the design of each bill. This included features such as watermarks, metallic threads, and color-shifting inks, which make it much more difficult to replicate the bills and ensure that they are authentic.

In addition to security, I also aimed to bring a new level of visual interest to the currency. The current American currency features a relatively uniform design across all denominations, which can make it difficult for users to distinguish between bills. By creating a unique design for each denomination, I hoped to make it easier for users to differentiate between bills at a glance, while also adding a new level of visual interest.

I carefully incorporated visual elements of each branch of the military into the bills, including images of military equipment and symbols. By doing so, I hoped to create a visually striking design that effectively conveyed the importance of our military forces to the nation's security and freedom.

Additionally for this project I have revived the two dollar bill. The $2 bill, which previously featured Thomas Jefferson, now showcases the Space Force, symbolizing the increasing importance of space exploration and technology in the modern world.

In the end, I was proud of the final design, which serves as a tribute to the men and women who serve in the armed forces and their unwavering dedication to protecting our country. I believe that my concept effectively merges design and patriotism, resulting in a visually stunning representation of our nation's currency that embodies the American spirit.
